The Echoes of the Wild community gathered at Marabou Rocks in Broadhurst, Gaborone, for another unforgettable outdoor experience as Echoes of the Wild - Safari Affair brought together music lovers, adventurers, creatives, and outdoor enthusiasts for a day and night of pure Botswana vibes.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear that Safari Affair was more than just a music event. It was a celebration of the lifestyle that defines Echoes of the Wild — a blend of music, safari culture, creativity, community, and a love for the outdoors.
As always, our Echoes Tribe showed up in full support, bringing incredible energy and creating the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with Echoes of the Wild events.
Botswana's Afro House and Afro Tech Community on Full Display
One of the pillars of Echoes of the Wild is the promotion of Botswana's growing Afro House and Afro Tech movement. Safari Affair once again showcased the talent, creativity, and dedication of local DJs who continue to push the genre forward.
The audience was treated to exclusive music, fresh productions, and carefully curated sets from an outstanding line-up featuring:

Each DJ brought their own unique sound and style, keeping the crowd moving throughout the day and deep into the night. For many attendees, one of the highlights was hearing unreleased music and exclusive edits, reminding everyone why Botswana's electronic music scene continues to grow from strength to strength.
Bringing the Safari Lifestyle to Life
A major highlight of the day was the arrival of the impressive 4x4 overlanding vehicle from the Diesel and Sand Overlanding team.
The fully equipped off-road beast immediately became a crowd favourite, giving guests a glimpse into the adventure and exploration that await them at the upcoming Kasane Weekender.
The team set up camp on-site, showcasing the overlanding lifestyle in action. Guests had the opportunity to explore the vehicle, engage with the team, and experience the camping culture that has become a growing part of Botswana's outdoor community.
In true Botswana fashion, the aroma of pap and braai filled the air as meals were prepared around camp, creating an authentic outdoor atmosphere that perfectly complemented the spirit of the event.
Art Meets the Wilderness
The ArtLab added a unique creative dimension to the Safari Affair experience.
Guests enjoyed tribal-inspired face painting and had the opportunity to colour wildlife illustrations, paint their own tote bags, and engage with art in a relaxed outdoor setting.
The interactive art experience provided a glimpse of some of the creative activities planned for the Kasane Weekender, where music, art, culture, and nature will come together in an even bigger way.
Dancing Around the Fire
As the sun set and temperatures dropped, the atmosphere only became more magical.
Guests gathered around the fire for warmth while the music continued to flow. One thing became clear throughout the evening — Batswana are truly a dancing nation.
Who would have thought Afro House could have people dancing with the same joy and enthusiasm often seen at traditional celebrations and weddings?
The energy remained high throughout the night, thanks in part to the charismatic Mobini, who served as Master of Ceremonies. Staying true to his reputation, he kept the crowd entertained and ensured the dance floor remained active from start to finish.
The Road to Kasane Weekender
Safari Affair successfully delivered a preview of what attendees can expect at the highly anticipated Echoes of the Wild – Kasane Weekender, taking place from 17–20 July 2026.
With less than a month remaining, excitement continues to build as tickets steadily sell. The Kasane Weekender promises to be a truly immersive music and safari destination experience, combining world-class electronic music, game drives, boat cruises, outdoor culture, fashion, food, art, and creative entertainment in one of Botswana's most iconic tourism destinations.
